About Our Program

Welcome!

I am delighted to assist you in this first exploration of a Neurosurgical career.

We are an ACGME-accredited program which was formerly AOA-accredited from 2007-2017. Our program’s strengths are our high clinical volume, diverse case types, and dedicated faculty notable for its breadth and depth of training. All our core faculty are fellowship-trained neurosurgeons and orthopedic spine surgeons who are experienced in surgical education.

Our strongest case type is Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (MIS), also the first center in Michigan with endoscopic spine surgery. Our other strengths include Cerebrovascular neurosurgery, Endovascular intervention, and Skull base surgery with one of the highest volumes of acoustic neuroma in the country. Such clinical volume ensures robust clinical research activity, and our Michigan State University affiliation provides basic and translational research support.

We allow a safe and balanced environment which encourages progressive responsibility and academic inquiry. Our mission is to help you develop into a highly-skilled, well-rounded neurosurgeon with the intellectual curiosity and character to serve your communities. I, your Program Director, and the rest of the Henry Ford Providence Faculty pledge to you unyielding support in this journey.

Our best wishes to you as you progress through the residency application process. Please contact us if we can be of assistance.
